My new BBQ has some slight imperfections—is this normal?

Yes, minor imperfections are normal and to be expected. Each built-in BBQ is handcrafted with care, and slight marks or variations can occur as part of the stainless steel fabrication, electropolishing, and laser etching processes. These do not affect performance or durability and are a natural part of a high quality, handmade product.

Do you need a range hood to operate this BBQ?

No, a range hood is not required. The Epicure Pro BBQ produces extremely low emissions and is certified for use without one.

However, you may choose to install a range hood to help manage smoke generated during cooking. The hidden fat collection system is discreetly positioned beneath the BBQ in the bench. To empty, simply open the cabinet, unhook the fat cup, dispose of the contents, and reattach—making maintenance quick and effortless.

How to attach the fat cup:

    1. Hold the cup upright and align it with the designated hook beneath the BBQ.

    2. Gently twist to slide the catch over the hook until it locks securely in place.

Important: Always keep the fat cup upright during attachment or removal to avoid spills.

The Epicure Pro features premium hot plates designed to heat gradually for optimal performance. For best results, follow these simple preheating steps:

    1. Set one or both controls to MEDIUM/HIGH (refer to control panel diagram above under "Performance").

    2. Preheat the hot plates for at least 20 minutes to ensure even heat distribution.

    3. Avoid preheating on HIGH to prevent triggering the overheat mechanism.

    4. Adjust the temperature 5 minutes before cooking, based on your desired heat level.

For added safety, the BBQ includes an overheat protection mechanism that will automatically shut off the appliance if it becomes too hot. If this occurs, the LED indicator light will turn off. Allow the BBQ to cool for 15 minutes before restarting.

To monitor surface temperature more accurately, we recommend using an infrared temperature gun or thermometer.

Do I need to season the BBQ’s hot plate?

Seasoning the hot plate is a personal preference. If you choose to do so, apply a light layer of cooking oil across the surface. Keep in mind that different oils have varying smoke points, so select one that suits your cooking needs.

Why does my food keep burning or sticking to the plate?

This usually occurs when the hot plate is too hot. If the BBQ is set too high, food is more likely to burn or stick.

We recommend starting with the heat dial at the halfway mark. Allow the BBQ to preheat for about 10 minutes, then increase the temperature gradually if needed. The ideal cooking range is between 180°C and 250°C. For best results, consider using an infrared thermometer to accurately monitor the plate temperature.

What’s the best way to check the hot plate temperature?

The ideal cooking temperature is between 180°C and 250°C. To measure it accurately, we recommend using an infrared temperature gun or thermometer for quick and precise readings of the hot plate surface.
